RADIOLABBBBBBb
Today i listened to a little Radiolab action.
The first thing i noticed was they used a quick sound effect at the beginning before he said his name to re set the listeners ear from what ever they were listening to before that. The talk in the beginning is very informal and then they have a very techno music intro type thing. Next they all start talking and introduce yourself. Next an audio transition with Obama Talking over.
In this podcast they talk to Ross Mcnutt who was a military man. He has an eye in the sky and can zoom in kind of like google earth. One big conflict they talked about was constant IED's going off in the middle east. Ross wants to find a solution to figure out who is planting road side bombs.
The way they do it is they talk about him as if he is not there and then play his own audio clips over top to back up what they are saying. Also there is a lot of ominous music.
To me it was kind of weirdly done. Im not a big fan of this style where they tell a little story and then plug in his voice. also the camera and helicopter sound effects are a bit much. Although i may not like it i can see how it is very useful for podcasts.

SWATCHES
I LOVE SWATCHES. SWATCHES MAKE MY JOB OF CREATING A BROCHURE SO MUCH EASIER!!!
Over the past few classes we have been learning about swatches! Swatches allow you to create new colors and also to name them. Swatches also allow you to change the gradient and tint of colors, and then quickly and easily apply them to your document. Also, instead of having to go in and manually change the gradient or tint of the color you want, with the drop down menu you can control the color of all objects using that one swatch. Swatches makes it easier to adjust color schemes without having to go and adjust each color individually. Naming the new colors and tints also helps to keep track of what you are doing.

Clouds n stuff
This blog is to explain about files and file sizes. There are many different file sizes, and it is important to know them for many different reason. You will want to be aware of a file size when uploading to a company server for example, because you would not want to take up unnecessary space on the server. Another reason could be that some computers can not support the fyle type that you are using.
The above image is the cloud saved in gif form. gif's are very low resolution files
The above image is saved in jpg form. jpg's are still small in size but will be better quality than a gif.
The last image is in png form. png's are pretty much a combo of gif and jpeg in that is very low rez but still has great clarity.

My summer in a nutshell
This summer went by extremely fast for me. I had two internships lined up for me from Monday through Friday in Nashville, Tennessee. I thought the summer was going to take so long, and just drag on like there was no end, but to my surprise it was over before I knew it.
On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday I had my internship at Sony Music Nashville as a radio production intern. Sony Music Nashville is made up of three different record labels which are RCA, which has artists such as Chris Young, Garth Brooks, Jake Owen, and Miranda Lambert. The second label that makes up Sony Nashville is Columbia. Their roster is made up of Tyler Farr, Steven Lee Olsen, Chase Rice, and the big dog himself, Kenny Chesney. Then we come to the final label Arista which has some big hitters like Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Kix Brooks, The Doobie Brothers, Jerrod Niemann, and new up and comer and personal favorite, Cam.
My first week at Sony was so crazy because that happened to be the week of the Country Music Association Festival where an average of 89,000 people came to see 7 different stages of country music for free. During this week they would pack the all the interns, including myself, into a car and have us wear matching tee shirts of what ever particular artist we were pushing that day. We had to go downtown in the 100+ degree weather and hand out stickers, shot glasses, koozies, and sunglasses. Although the weather was outrageous, I never had more fun in my life. We got to take breaks in-between passing out promo items and got to go watch some of the Sony artists.
After the CMA festival was over, I settled into my role as the radio production intern at Sony. My job was to cut up raw interview footage from artists that my boss would compile. The program I used was called Sony SoundForge. Other times I would be using Pro Tools and making Radio spots for artist that would get sent out weekly to radio stations all over the country. The typical spot I would make would have someone say “THIS IS THE SONG BLAA BLAA BLAA BY BLAA BLAA BLAA!!!!” Then I would have to bring in the song smoothly at the hook so that the listener would hear the chorus of the song right away. When I first started it wasn't the best. It wasn't awful, but not great by any stretch of the
imagination.
Every Wednesday, I had my internship at Big Loud!!!!!!!! (I have to be extra loud when I say the name). Big Loud is the management company for Artists Chris Lane, Dallas Smith, and Florida Georgia Line. When i worked there i interned for the head of content and new media.
There I made a lot of videos on Adonis primer for the artist to use on their Instagram. Now that I know we will be using primer on class I am very happy that I did that internship!
Overall I had a great summer and doing all that just secured the fact that I want to be in the music business.
So far this new class has been a great help and I think will not help me in my future internships, and I can't wait to see what is to come.
